The Latin America Poker Tour 2008 in Punta del Este was won by Jose Miguel Espinar from Valencia, Spain. The 27 year old Spaniard has only been playing poker since December 2007, but has had a remarkable start with just one month into playing poker, winning $24,000 at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. And now the former central heating salesman is an LAPT Champion. He takes the title and a cash prize for $241,735 in the LAPT Punta del Este tournament.
The next season will see three additional countries in LAPT. Except for Brazil, Costa Rica and Uruguay the South American countries Argentina, Chile and Mexico will join to host the tour. First country out next season is Costa Rica on November 3.
