The biggest poker tournament on Earth has been running for eight days now. Some of the best poker players have gathered in the Nevada desert in the Casino City of Las Vegas, USA, and more players are expected to arrive to Las Vegas to join the festivities that will culminate in the Main Event $10,000 buy-in Final.

Today, two new events will kick-off. No limit Hold´em / Six handed (Event 9) $1,500 buy-in and Pot-Limit Holdem / Omaha (Event 10) $2,500 buy-in. Both events will be played for three days until one last man is standing with a WSOP Gold Bracelet.

Winners so far into the WSOP tournament:

- Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em (Event 1) - Andrew Cohen $83,833

- 40th Annual No-Limit Holdem (Event 2) - Vitaly Lunkin $1,891,012

- Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better (Event 3) - Thang Luu $263,190

Vitaly Lunkin, who won “40th Annual No-Limit Holdem” event is a Russian poker pro player from Moscow sponsored by Full Tilt Poker. He is originally a backgammon player and Renju Champion. Lunkin claimed a Gold Bracelet previous year, when he won $1,5K No-Limit Hold’em event with 2,700 entrants.

Thang Luu made a double by winning the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or better for the second time in a row. It could have been three straight win if Thang Luu hadn’t ended up runner-up in 2007 in the Omaha Hi-Lowe Split-8 or better event.

The thrilling WSOP in Las Vegas will be played during the whole summer, and it´s not too late to win prize packages to play in the poker events. For more information about winning prize packages to WSOP, read the Article “The Road to a Gold Bracelet”.
