Main Event in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2009 is played in Las Vegas, USA. Some of the world’s best poker players have come together to compete for the poker millions, the gold bracelet and the glory and fame that will be rewarded to the winner. Swedish poker pro Oskar Silow who has managed to land in the money 2 out 4 attempts has just played Day 1c and finished with 41K in his chip stack.

G. Back to Las Vegas for the fourth time and playing the WSOP Main Event 2009. How is it going?
S: It´s the fifth time actually! I have 2 ITM positions and 2 without any cashes since before. Day 1 was a little more volatile then I wished for, but I´m through to day 2 anyway, with 41K in chips stack, so it feels ok.

G: How did you recover from the unfortunate start in the beginning of the poker tournament?
S: It was a slow grind with many small pots back to starting stack, and then it was lucky hand that gave me an ok chip position to day 2.

G: How is the atmosphere at the table?
S: Really good at my table! We had a lot of fun together and chatted a lot. I think it´s really boring when people don’t talk at the tables. We had e.g. a guy at our table not saying a word more than just “water” the whole day, and played maybe 10 hands max. How much fun did he have?

G: You cashed 2 times before in WSOP Main Event, including a 14th place in 2005. How has your live poker tournament skills evolved since then, do you think?
S. A lot. When I went far in 2005 I played mostly ABC, which itself can work very well in a tournament with so weak competition and slow structure like this one. Now I got more weapons in the arsenal and I´m adapting my game more after my competition and situation. But you can’t always succeed… It went wrong in some pots today e.g.

G: And finally, what can´t a person miss when they are visiting in Las Vegas?
S: Shows, shopping, Grand Canyon, party, eat! Las Vegas has sick much to offer than just playing, so don’t get caught in the casino all day.
